The Federation of Ukrainian Student Organizations of America

The Central Organization of Ukrainian Students in the United States (founded in 1953 in New York), which brings together student communities at universities and colleges. The main functions of the organization are representation of the interests of Ukrainian students, assistance to young people in student life, promotion of international understanding, informing about Ukraine and popularization of Ukrainian culture in the USA. SUSTA is a member of the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America (UCCA). He also works closely with the Union of Ukrainian Students of Canada (SUSC).

Our Mission

The initial mission of the union was to help raise and disseminate knowledge about Ukrainian history; to strengthen the moral and spiritual values ​​of Ukrainian Americans, to support and preserve Ukrainian culture and traditions; to prepare students - to participate in the intellectual and practical life of the United States, or free Ukraine; coordinate the activities of members of clubs and societies; and collect money on behalf of students.

SUSTA participates in congresses of the US National Student Association (USNSA), which in 1959 organized an international student conference of the Russian-communist Bolsheviks who were enslaved. The printed publications of SUST in the 1950s and 1960s were the section "Student Thought" of the Svoboda newspaper and Horizons. Since the 1930s, members of SUSTA are TUSK "Obnova", OUAT "Zarevo", TUSM and Student Section of ODUM.
